Maya Benning-Codina, LCPC, CSAT, CRC, has been providing clinical counseling services since earning her master’s degree in 2015. She is a trauma-informed clinician specializing in sex addiction, betrayal trauma, and relational healing, working with individuals, couples, and families who are ready to move beyond survival and into lasting, meaningful change.
Maya’s clients often feel stuck in painful patterns—struggling with disconnection, compulsive behaviors, or the aftermath of betrayal—and are seeking deeper clarity, peace, and authentic connection. Many have tried to change but find themselves repeating the same cycles. Maya helps clients understand the underlying patterns and unconscious survival strategies that once served a purpose but now keep them from moving forward. Through this work, clients learn to build self-trust, establish healthy boundaries, and create more secure, fulfilling relationships.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and grounded in Gestalt therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness-based practices, solution-focused techniques, and parts work. She brings both clinical expertise and compassion into the room, helping clients not only gain insight but also make sustainable life changes that align with their goals.
In addition to her clinical work, Maya is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and provides vocational counseling services, including work as a subcontractor with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She specializes in supporting individuals with disabilities in the vocational rehabilitation process, helping clients build independence, confidence, and meaningful career paths.
Maya has facilitated a wide range of therapy groups, including anger management, job-seeking skills, veteran support, sex and love addiction recovery, and mental health support and symptom management.
She views therapy as a sacred space for safety, honesty, and transformation. Whether you are navigating addiction, betrayal, grief, identity, or life transitions, Maya offers a grounded, supportive presence to help you move toward healing, clarity, and lasting change—you don’t have to carry it alone.
